What kind of damage will it bring to the bearing if the use method is not correct?

1. Spalling at the limit position of one side channel
The spalling at the limit position of one side of the channel is mainly manifested in the serious spalling ring at the junction of the channel and the retaining wall. The reason is that the bearing is not installed in place or the sudden axial overload occurs during operation.
The countermeasures adopted are to ensure that the bearing is installed in place or to change the outer ring fit of the free side bearing into clearance fit, so as to compensate the bearing when the bearing is overloaded.
If the installation can not be ensured, the direct contact of the bearing can be reduced by increasing the oil film thickness of the lubricant (increasing the viscosity of the lubricant) or reducing the load of the bearing.
2. The channel spalls symmetrically in the circumferential direction
The spalling at the symmetrical position is shown in that the inner ring spalls at the surrounding ring, while the outer ring spalls at the circumferential symmetrical position (i.e. in the direction of the short axis of the ellipse). The main reason is that the ellipse of the shell hole is too large or the structure of the two half separated shell holes, which is especially obvious in the camshaft bearings for motorcycles.
When the bearing is pressed into the shell hole with larger ellipse or the two half separated shells are fixed tightly, the outer ring of the bearing will produce ellipse, and the clearance in the direction of short axis will be significantly reduced or even negative.
Under the action of load, the inner ring rotates to produce circumferential spalling marks, while the outer ring only produces spalling marks in the symmetrical position of the short axis direction. This is the main reason for the early failure of the bearing. The inspection of the bearing failure parts shows that the outer diameter roundness of the bearing has changed from 0.8um controlled by the original process to 27um. This value is much larger than the radial clearance value.
Therefore, it is certain that the bearing works under severe deformation and negative clearance, and it is easy to form abnormal rapid wear and spalling on the working face at an early stage.
The countermeasures are to improve the machining accuracy of shell hole or not to adopt the structure of separating the two halves of shell hole as far as possible.
